Our vision for GFMI is to glorify God by using the glasses project to enable impoverished Christians in developing countries to read the Bible and to show the love of Christ in presenting the Gospel.

Glasses for Missions, Inc. prefers to work with churches trained in sharing the gospel in one-on-one situations for several reasons:

A.    To encourage and establish one-on-one witnessing more firmly in the church by providing a steady flow of prospects for the witnessing teams.

B.    To present the Gospel in a positive setting.

C.    To assist in providing more opportunities in discipling.

D.    To assist the church in becoming more effective in reaching their community.

E.    To assist the local church in meeting the needs of the community.

F.    To encourage other churches to get involved and become trained in witnessing also.

Proposed Plan of Implementation:

    1.   Train hand picked (by the pastor) volunteers of the local church to fabricate inexpensive reading glasses 4 to 8 hours.

    2.   The volunteers then make up predetermined number of various powers of glasses or frames and test kit.

    3.   Pastor sets up time and place for distribution and advertise same.

    4.   At distribution a predetermined number of prospects are allowed in and seated, after announcements, (and short prayer)

    5.   One person uses test kit to determine strength of glasses needed.  This information along with the name and address, is written on a card.

    6.   The card is given to the evangelist who then takes person(s) to private area and presents the Gospel.

    7.   Prescription is given to the volunteer who will then install the lenses or find proper power if the glasses are already made up.

    8.   After the Gospel presentation and immediate follow up, the prospect is given glasses and volunteer makes any adjustments if necessary.

    9.  Prospect is invited to the next church services and arrangements are made for a 7 day follow-up.

Distribution could be on a weekly or monthly basis and set up to coincide with the regular witnessing on-the-job training and follow up.

There are other ways to implement the GFMI project. But this plan in favored as we feel it would be the most effective in reaching many for the Lord and bringing to them many blessings.

We had a distribution in a church where even the pastors were not trained to share the Gospel one-on-one and we had many lost opportunities as only one of our team was able to present the Gospel effectively.

This really opened our eyes to the vital need for proper training and the assurance of it before we start.

See web site: EE International and Kids' EE for the best training available.

Glasses For Missions' vision is to glorify God by enabling impoverished Christians in developing countries around the world to read their Bible and to show the love of Christ in presenting the Gospel.
